With the support of NABU-Naturstation Münsterland, Venti Oelde has transformed a former lawn area next to the company headquarters into a vibrant wildflower haven.
Instead of closely trimmed blades, the area next to the Venti Oelde headquarters now boasts an impressive variety of wildflower species and wild grasses. This colorful spectacle is not only aesthetically pleasing but also provides a valuable habitat for numerous insect species. Alongside bees, different species of butterflies and beetles have now found a new home, with all playing a crucial role in plant pollination and maintenance of the ecological balance. In light of the ongoing decline in insect populations and its associated ecological effects, the creation of this wildflower landscape represents a conscious step toward nature conservation and the promotion of biodiversity.
And the positive effects of this natural landscape extend beyond the realm of insect life. The area now also offers a source of food and refuge for other animal species, such as birds and small mammals. In addition to its ecological benefits, the blooming wildflower landscape enhances the overall surroundings, making a small contribution to preserving nature in urban spaces.
