The main subjects of the "Health Day" held in May at Venti Oelde were nutrition, hygiene and skin protection.
During her talk on "Hygiene", Dr Ruth Welslau from the team of doctors responsible for occupational health in local factories, explained how to clean the skin correctly, the use of work gloves and work-wear and hygiene during meals.
Describing the "5 A DAY" programme (5 portions of a variety of fruit or vegetables each of which will fit in the palm of a hand), Petra Rieping from the AOK health insurance company emphasized that fruit and vegetables are extremely important in helping us stay healthy and that with a balanced diet a healthy weight can be achieved and maintained. Regular exercise will reduce fat deposits and build up muscle mass.
There were information stands where employees were given information about the correct way to protect their skin and where skin moisture was measured. Body fat analyses and determination of the body mass index provided information about one’s personal condition.
Venti supported the health day with healthy finger food and delicious juice mixed drinks for their employees.
Managing director, Ralf Dörner, commented: We want to encourage our employees to eat sensibly and to treat their skin with respect, as well as show them how they can maintain their health and protect themselves against hazardous substances by simple hygiene precautions.
The event was supported by the trade association for the wood and metalworkers’ industry, the AOK health insurance company, team of doctors responsible for occupational health in local factories and the company Stockhausen Skin Protection.
