"Oh, my back!" – under this motto Ventilatorenfabrik Oelde once again organised a Health Day for all its employees. A short talk showed how simple it is to do something to benefit one’s back on a daily basis but without taking up too much time. Just making small changes in the normal daily routine, such as cycling to work or going for a short walk during the lunch break, help to improve and strengthen circulation, musculature and joints. Employees were able to learn more about the state of their own back musculature through a Back Check. A Mini Check-Up provided information about blood pressure and blood test results. Advice about the correct way to lift and carry heavy loads but also dexterity exercises on the Wii console and a simulation of the spinal disc compressive load completed the Health Day. The event was supported by the Institution for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Wood and Metalworking Industries (BGHM), the AOK (Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse = General Local Health Insurance), the Oelde medical centre for local companies (WAZ Oelde) and the fitness studio Top Vital of TV Jahn Rheine (Gym Club Jahn Rheine).
